Intro
I'm making a map editor for Advance Wars: Dark Conflict. I plan to have the basic functionality of the in-game editor. I will try to add support for .map files (the files used by Custom Wars) as well.

Changes since last version
* Graphical overhaul.
* Coding overhaul.
* Properties added.
* Units added.
* Resize button added.
* Cursor coordinates added.
* Saving now has a fancy popup box.
* Saving maps as .map files (files used by Custom Wars) added. (may be glitchy)
* Saving maps as .drm (Days of Ruin Map) files (my own file type) added.
* Loading .drm files added.
* Shoals and Bridges added - THESE ARE TEMPORARY PLACEHOLDERS.

Known Bugs/To-Do List
* When a road, river or plasma is changed to another terrain, any adjoining road, river or plasma tiles do not automatically change to reflect this.
* Meteors do not connect to plasma tiles.
* Rivers do not connect to sea tiles.
* There are no cliffs at the edge of sea tiles.
* When a Talon Gun is placed at the edge of the map, part of it appears at the other side.
* When part of a Talon Gun overlaps part of another talon gun, the rest of the Talon Gun does not disappear.
* Loading .map files into Custom Wars can be glitchy.
* When placing a terrain on a tile containing a unit, the terrain is placed, but the unit stays even if it cannot traverse the terrain.
* Shoals and Bridges need to be finished.

File Types
* .drm - my file type. Can be loaded back into the editor.
* .map - the file type used for Custom Wars. Cannot be loaded back into the editor, but can be used in Custom Wars. (recommended release here.)
* .png - an image file. Creates a .png screenshot of the map.

I'm working on it.

The sea tile will take ages to code because of all the different cliffs.

would it be possible to do a quick and dirty job of throwing the Sea Tile in there without the cliffs for v.26 ? I've ben looking for a decent DoR editor for EVER (well, okay, maybe not forever, but you get the idea)

Not bad, though I guess i could point out, that the river doesn't join on to the river. Otherwise I hope we'll have a working DoR Map Editor (use Days Of Ruin, Dark Conflict just sounds so lame...) Good Job Though!!!

I don't mind the bug that doesn't change the road tiles. Just wondering, how much scripting would it involve if you animated all the icons (no I'm not saying you should)?
Oh and if you 'doesn't automatically' what does it take to straighten the tile? I also noticed the bridge images, but there is no bridge in the game. What the point?
May also be a good idea to put the version in the surname. Like add 'V0.30' next to the warning.

i have no idea, but it would probably be quite easy

click on the road that isn't straight while the selected terrain is set to road, the same works for plasma and rivers

i havent got round to programming the bridges in yet

Found a glitch!
When I saved a map (don't ask), when I looked in the map file, the picture had the 'save map as:' box in it. And it was right in the middle.
I edited my previous post BTW. "May also be a good idea to put the version in the surname. Like add 'V0.30' next to the warning. "

Really hoping that this works out for you, a map editor has been required for some time. smile.gif Good luck.

Well, the only real problem that I can see with this editor is that there's no way to put properties in maps (judging by the screenshot, at least). And Mist and Rough Sea are AWOL as well.

Other than that, looks pretty good.

mist and rough will be in the next release, i'm not sure about properties or units though

i'm having a bit of a problem with the map saving ATM, but it should (hopefully) not take long to fix

Great work. Maybe, just a suggestion, the bridges could be just a bridge, and instead of the sea around it be transparent? I don't know if this would work in your program, and you'd have to make the bridge placeable anywhere, but it might make it easier than making a bunch of bridge sprites.
